BLOOD ALONE is a manga centering around Kuroe and Misaki, a human male and a girl vampire.

Usually when I see a series focusing on vampires, I assume it’s either going to be an overemotional drama (e.g. Vampire Knight) or fan service oriented. However, BLOOD ALONE falls in neither of those categories and is instead quite easy to read with a serious plot surrounded by lighthearted events. I just started reading it and before I knew it, I was already finished with a considerable number of chapters.

Don’t get me wrong though, there are plenty of excellent series out there involving vampires. For starters, Blood+ is an amazing anime and ranks near the top for me due to its extensive story.

It feels like I’ve been reading a bunch of manga in the mystery genre fairly consistently.

This one is about a guy with a special red eye that allows him to see ghosts. He assists a girl that keeps coming to him for help in solving mystery cases. It’s quite short with only 9 chapters; I would definitely love to see more.

Another manga series that I randomly picked up.

It’s about a man that can steal people’s luck by touching them with his bare hands. The premise is interesting enough; looking forward to where it takes this series. In the current chapters out, it feels a bit episodic although I can see the main plot building up.

Unfortunately, looks like the releases are few and comes at random intervals.

Started reading the xxxHolic manga this week. I was already somewhat familiar with the premise since I saw Tsubasa Chronicle and have heard of the xxxHolic anime.

Summary from One Manga:

Watanuki Kimihiro is haunted by visions of ghosts and spirits. Seemingly by chance, he encounters a mysterious witch named Yuuko, who claims she can help. In desperation, he accepts, but realizes that he’s just been tricked into working for Yuuko in order to pay off the cost of her services. Soon he’s employed in her little shop – a job which turns out to be nothing like his previous work experience!

Although the manga feels episodic and somewhat repetitive at times, I still enjoy reading it and seeing Watanuki *hopefully* become more pro. I guess I find stories related to the supernatural interesting since I seem to be reading a decent amount of those here and there.

After reading the manga so far, my interest in viewing the animated version of xxxHolic has increased exponentially. Don’t know why, but I didn’t even watch one episode of it when it first aired. =/

Also, the image is of Zashiki Warashi. You either already know or you’ll find out who she is when you read the manga. I’m assuming she’s in the anime as well since there are some episodes in the manga related to her. ^^;
