Around 3-4 weeks ago I decided that I needed a break from work and as a result I’ll be in Japan for 12 days.
I leave next Wednesday and won’t be back until the end of the month. A complete and detailed itinerary is still in the works, but I have a general outline for each day.
Here are the major cities I’ll be in:
- [Day 1 to Day 3] – Tokyo
- [Day 4] – Yokohama
- [Day 5] – Kamakura
- [Day 6] – Hakone
- [Day 7] – Kyoto
- [Day 8] – Nara
- [Day 9] – Osaka
- [Day 10 to Day 12] – Tokyo
Airfare was covered using my frequent flyer miles, so some money was saved there. I also purchased a 7-day JR pass since it is more cost-efficient to use that when traveling long distances on the train.
Reservations are already made for all the places I’ll be staying at. I’m really looking forward to relaxing at Ichinoyu Honkan in Hakone, which is the hot springs inn shown in the picture above.
So basically I’m just finishing up with specific places to visit in each area. I’ll probably post a detailed itinerary this weekend once I finish it. Not sure if I’ll have time to post while I’m there though, but I’ll try.
