No.6 – First Impressions

The token science fiction series for this season is No.6.

Set in a “perfect” city designated as No.6, a boy living there named Shion soon finds out the reality of life outside the city and also learns of problems brewing in No.6 itself.

A bit late for first impressions since I’ve seen almost half the series already considering it’s only 11 episodes long. The story seems to be your typical dystopia with some mysterious killer bees thrown in. There are many unanswered questions about various aspects of No.6 and its past history, which is a pity since I doubt there will be enough time to go into those details. 11 episodes is simply not enough to expand on a futuristic setting.

The focus is mainly on the relationship between Shion and Nezumi, which is made even more obvious by the opening sequence. However, I found the interactions between Shion and Safu to be far more interesting and amusing as well. I do hope Safu plays a more pivotal role in the coming episodes and they decide to tone down on Shion’s obsession with Nezumi.

Rating: Good

Well, those were short impressions :v

It may not be simply a typical dystopia – I really do hope No. 6 doesn’t play the ‘lololol all governments are bad’ card, and at least explore some of the government’s reasons to do what they have done.

But with only, what, 5 episodes left, I don’t think they’ll be able to do that…

Yeah, I’m finding less time and motivation to make new posts. :<

Ah yes, that would be nice, but alas there's the restriction of only 5 episodes left like you said. 🙁
