Well, Anime Expo 2011 is over with and our first year as exhibitors has been a tiring one.
I apologize for the low quality photos since I didn’t bring my DSLR in order to minimize the luggage we had to bring down to LA. So I just used my camera phone to take these photos of our booth.
Our booth setup was almost identical to the one we had at Fanime. The Miku bookmarks turned out to be quite popular since we gave out all the ones we brought. I should have probably ordered more to bring to AX.
Even though we had pretty good sales, we don’t have any plans at the moment to return to AX next year as exhibitors. Having to stand all day and then going to concerts at night to stand some more really killed our feet during the 4 days of the convention.
We attended five concerts (Nirgilis, Kalafina, Mikunopolis, Maon Kurosaki, and Scandal at AM2), which were all standing. Nirgilis was a disappointment since the bass was turned up way too high and SHINY SHINY (Deadman Wonderland ED) sounded way worse than the non-live version. The Miku concert would have been good if we were in the center section near the front, but we were instead way back in the right section. So we couldn’t really see anything and it didn’t help that Miku completely disappeared when she walked toward the left side of the stage. Maon Kurosaki and Kalafina were both really good and definitely worth going to. I’m surprised they got such a small venue (Club Nokia), but I guess Miku took up Nokia Theater. As for Scandal, we had to rush over to AM2 which was around a 40 minute drive from AX. Their concert was pretty good as well, but AM2 seemed somewhat empty.
The online checkout over at the Figure Haven site has been enabled once again. Our inventory numbers of the current products on the site have been updated, but I’ll be adding in new items from our latest shipments over the next few days.
