Fate/Zero – Preview

Fate/Zero is scheduled to get an anime adaptation that airs in October of this year!

As an avid TYPE-MOON fan, I’m thrilled that they decided to animate the prequel to Fate/stay night. Ufotable will be the studio doing the animation work, which is an excellent choice considering the superb work they put into Kara no Kyoukai. The official site has also put up a short preview video under the “Movies” section in which their skill and attention to detail is clearly demonstrated. It even shows Tohsaka Rin as a child along with Saber in her black suit!

I have never actually read the Fate/Zero novel. So besides the flashbacks in Fate/stay night, this will all be new to me. I have always wanted to see the complete story behind the 4th Holy Grail War, although my excitement is somewhat dulled by the fact that I already know how it will end. Nevertheless, this is certainly something to look forward to in the coming months.

I loved fate/stay Night even though it had a rather melancholic ending. Being a prequel though, you know that nothing too bad is going to happen to the characters. And how is Emiya going to play into all of this?

Yeah, I’m not a big fan of the ending used in the Fate/stay night anime. I don’t think Shirou will even show up in Fate/Zero unless maybe at the end.

  2. Better still, Yuki Kajiura is doing the soundtrack for this and, when paired with Urobuchi’s writing, gives me the high hopes that this will be a fantastic piece of work alongside the Kara no Kyoukai movies.

Ah, that was what I forgot! I remember seeing Yuki Kajiura’s name listed under music, but didn’t mention it in my post. I’m a big fan of her music, so this is another plus to Fate/Zero. 🙂

On a related note, hopefully she’ll be at AX this year since Kalafina is going to be there.

  3. Heard about this while back and still looking forward to it, if they keep it similar to the novels that is…

Hopefully they’ll stay true to the novels. I don’t see any reason why they wouldn’t. :X

I hope that zero will be as successful as fate/stay night.

With all the talent behind the production of this anime, it should turn out quite good.

As original stream at fate-zero.jp is pretty bad, you may want to check my cleaned version (having also subtitles, thanks to Arturia Subs that kindly agreed to use them):

In description you can also find a link where my MP4 can be found, which is obviously better than YT involuntary reencode, but still far from being really good, as it is just impossible to do wonders with the low quality video they gave us. Why the on-site PVs have to be always awfully streamed is something that any sane person will never understand.

Haha, indeed. Maybe they’re trying to save bandwidth? >_<

    Anyways, thanks for your work!
