Infinite Stratos was the only series this season that I made sure to keep up with every single week it was airing.
Even though a lot of anime stereotypes can be found in it, the series utilized them in a way that felt alright and didn’t negatively affect the flow of each individual episode. They managed to have a cliffhanger ending for almost every episode, which kept me hooked the entire season.
This first season was mostly about introducing all the characters and later ends with everyone working together to take down an automated IS that went berserker mode. My only complaint is the short length (12 episodes), which can be easily remedied if they decide to do another season of IS. The animation, especially during the aerial battle scenes, was well-done and exciting to watch.
As for the romance aspect, I didn’t expect much from the ending since this is a harem we’re talking about here, but I think Ichika is leaning towards Houki (typical, since she’s the childhood friend). Char has the best personality out of all of them though and made a few of the episodes very entertaining. The ending sequence for each episode actually shows all the girls running behind him, and it seems like their order changes depending on how close they are with him at the time.
I stand by my initial rating since Infinite Stratos lived up to my expectations. As if the new banner wasn’t already enough indication of how much I liked it.
Rating: Very Good
