Dragon Crisis! is about a boy named Ryuuji that saves a girl (Rose) who turns out to be a dragon in human form.
The story centers on Ryuuji and Rose while they encounter other dragons and a variety of “Lost Precious”, which are magical artifacts scattered around the world. Ryuuji dislikes these artifacts since his parents are always gone from home searching for them, but he also happens to be one of the world’s highest level “Breakers” (people with the ability to use “Lost Precious”). When paired with the way he acts, you get a typical male hero of a shounen series.
Rose is constantly sticking to Ryuuji, and the tantrums she throws when he’s away reminds me of a spoiled brat. It doesn’t help that she has a limited vocabulary so far which mostly consists of “Ryuuji”, which she loves to repeat. Her voice may sound familiar since Kugimiya Rie voices both her and Taiga from Toradora!, where the male lead is also named Ryuuji. What a coincidence.
Dragon Crisis! is a good series, but I find it a bit lacking when compared to the other great shows this season. The plot and characters aren’t particularly strong, but at least there were some good battle scenes.
