Yosuga no Sora – First Impressions

This will be the last “First Impressions” post for this season. I think I covered all the series I’m following right now.

Yosuga no Sora has all the attributes of a stereotypical high school drama. It begins with two siblings moving back to a small village after losing their parents. Then the protagonist meets former acquaintances, forges new friendships, and gets into romantic relationships. You know, the usual stuff.

These remote villages in every high school drama all essentially look the same, especially the school layout/buildings. Their school is actually surprising large for a “small village”. It’s either the same size or larger than the high school I went to.

The opening song “Hiyoku no Hane” by Eufonius is what I like most about this series. The second thing I like is how it’s going through different routes to show all the possible endings. It doesn’t restart from the beginning each time like Amagami SS does though. Otherwise, nice backgrounds and character stories, but nothing too special.

Oh, be warned that Yosuga no Sora is NSFW. I didn’t expect them to include so much ecchi. Come on, I was hoping it would be PG-13!

Rating: Mediocre

  1. This show should have just been a hentai from the very beginning. Oh well, I hear the music’s good.

Putting the NSFW stuff aside, this show is actually not bad… Like you said “nice backgrounds and character stories, but nothing too special”. couldn’t agree more =).

Yeah, without the NSFW content it’s just another typical high school drama.

Without the ecchi, they could have developed the story even more. :/

Is it actually full on nudity or just NSFW like Queen’s Blade is NSFW?

    Reltair Reply:

I only saw 1 episode of Queen’s Blade before dropping it so I’m not sure. Yosuga no Sora has some quite revealing scenes, but the camera angles try to crop out a lot of it though.
