Kuragehime – First Impressions

Kuragehime is one of those series that tend to slip under the radar during a filled season such as this one.

The story is about a girl who moves to Tokyo to pursue her dream of becoming an illustrator. She lives in an apartment complex full of female otaku, but trouble arises one day when a stylish woman who stayed in her room turns out to be a cross-dressing man.

This unique premise populated by a cast of memorable characters makes for some hilarious situations. Even though the animation may not be top notch, the character designs are quite original. You won’t find the usual “perfect” anime character proportions here.

Kuragehime has been the most entertaining series in this season so far for me, and I hope it is able to continue that trend.

I’m a bit detracted by the character designs. I’ve been too spoiled by moe characters.

Everyone loves moe characters! As long as the story is good though, I’m fine.
