osu!

osu! is a free rhythm game for the PC that is somewhat in the style of DDR except with clicking.

I discovered this game after watching a Starcraft II stream where the player was warming up with osu! before playing his matches.

There is a built-in editor that allows you to create your own beatmaps, which has resulted in a large selection of user-generated content. Plus, there are online rankings and even multiplayer mode!

I’m pretty impressed so far with what I’ve seen, and it looks like this game will last me quite a while considering that normal difficulty is challenging enough already.

  1. The game is based on Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan! which I think was relabeled to Elite Beat Agents in the USA is a pretty entertaining game overall and I can see why people would want to warm up to it in SC2 since it probably does help with micro-ing.

Speaking of SC2, has that Touhou map gone live yet?

Oh, I see. I’ve only seen uncompleted versions of the Touhou map so far. Not sure if there’s a completed one yet. :/

Looks fun but really hard. Good way to pass time though.

I don’t play it much, but it’s good for those random 5 minute breaks.

Considering how badly I’m addicted to rhythm games, and how badly I’m addicted to Touhou, this seems to be a must-download. I must have that map when it comes out. D:

I love the Osu! games for the DS, they’re a lot of fun and if you haven’t gotten them yet I’d suggest you do. The American version is highly addictive also.

Haha, I haven’t played Touhou in a while. I’ll check out the Osu! games for the DS, I haven’t tried those out yet.
