Fanime 2010 Loot

The only two things I purchased this year at Fanime were a Rider nendo from the Dealer’s Hall and a Kidrobot Munny from the Charity Auction that was autographed/sketched on by the GAINAX staff in Japan.

So the story behind this Munny is that they took it to Japan and had it autographed by various people at GAINAX. Some of them drew sketches as well and wrote messages. Then they took it back to San Jose for the Charity Auction. The proceeds went to the American Red Cross.

The Kidrobot Munny also came with four random accessories. I like the Mari sketch on the lightning bolt the best.

Evangelion was the first anime series ever that I watched, so it is pretty cool to be able to own this.

The Charity Auction was the highlight of Fanime for me. There was a Fender Squier mini-acoustic guitar that was autographed by the MusicFest guests that went for $170 (I regret not bidding on it). Other items include a Noel and other Blazblu sketches that went way out of my budget range.

Good times, I’m looking forward to next year!

Wow! That Munny signed by Gainax staff is really cool stuff. I never knew Fanime had such a good dealer’s room — the last time I went was probably high school a good 6 years ago. Back then I didn’t buy much though.

    Nice loot. 😛

The Charity Auction was actually held outside the Dealer’s Hall. While the auction was good (I love autographs/sketches), I wasn’t that impressed with the selection of products available in the hall. We were probably carrying the most Alter/GSC/Max Factory figures out of anyone.

    6 years ago, that’s a pretty long time. o_O

    …and thanks! 🙂

  3. That Mari sketch is pretty awesome and seeing how she’s pretty much entranced a lot of people who’ve seen Eva 2.22 (or whatever number it is), having it there is pretty neat.

Hope you did well in terms of sales and unloading some of that inventory!

Thanks, we did decent in sales and sold off a lot of the larger boxes.

Now there’s AX to look forward to in July!

Whoa! I had no idea it was YOU who won the auction…lol, I was extremely tempted to take the Munny & run (no pun intended…LOL) w/o putting it up for auction…. ^o^

I’m glad Munny made it to a good home & will be appreciated by someone like you. I find it amusing you still kept the post-it tag I had written for Sadamoto Yoshiyuki’s Mari sketch.

    I would be extremely tempted as well if I were in your position. ^^;

Haha, I’m keeping the post-it tag on it for my own reference so I can easily remember what it’s from. *shrug*

Looks really cool. I had never heard or seen a Munny before. And it’s for a good cause!

Same here, I never even heard of Kidrobot before. It’s nice that the money went to charity. ^^
