There seems to be a lot of chatter today on the anime blogosphere about Bandai’s announcement of a new Code Geass Project for 2010. I saw posts about this both on Sankaku Complex and zotaku.
While a Code Geass Project could mean many things, I hope this project is actually another season of Code Geass continuing from where R2 left off.
*SPOILER* Discussion below regarding Code Geass R2.
At first when I saw that the announcement was signed “ZERO”, I was excited because it was a sign that Lelouch is still alive. However, I then recalled that Suzaku (Fail character) is now Zero. Sigh.
Regardless, for all those disbelievers out there – Lelouch is still alive. He has to be the wagon driver traveling around the countryside with C.C.

Let the trolling commence! I think the biggest thing I derived from that show was the sheer amount of tomfoolery that went on in R2 including that inconclusive ending you cited. Well, if nothing else, this new project should be entertaining if nothing else.

R2 did get pretty ridiculous with so many implausible events/actions occurring. I liked the first season better.
But no complaints from me about the new project, I think they could definitely do more work with Code Geass.

The main problem I had with the second season was it took a perfectly reasonable build-up from the end of the first season, crumpled up the script it was written on and trashed it within the first couple minutes. And THEN went on to the aforementioned tomfoolery. I mean, there were amusing parts. But it kind of felt like they fired all their writers and tried to just run with random anime tropes.

Haha, I agree. I was looking forward to the 2nd season and was confused at first when it aired.
