Octavia from Tears to Tiara is presented here by Kotobukiya as a 1/8 scale PVC figure.
Some footage from the anime adaptation:
Here are some other fun facts you might want to know:
- Release Date: 12/2008
- Height: 19.5cm or 27cm (sword drawn)
- Sculptor: Satoshi Taku
For those interested in purchasing this figure, Figure Haven has it in stock.
Now on with the photos!
First up are shots of the entire figure.
Octavia can be presented with her sword drawn or sheathed. As the photos show, I prefer the sword to be drawn since it allows the actual blade to be seen.
She’s taking a battle stance, ready to swing her sword or to draw it out – depending on how you have her set up.
The base is higher than normal, but quite plain. I think Kotobukiya should have at least printed the series name on it.
Next are some close-up shots.
The sculptor did an excellent job on including all the details of the character. From her gloves and boots to her belt holding an extra dagger, it all assists in creating a realistic portrayal of Octavia.
The colors are also well done with the black, brown, and white all complementing the red nicely.
Kotobukiya releases a wide range of figures that are priced lower than other manufacturers. However, the quality of their figures is still generally very high, which makes purchasing Kotobukiya figures a prudent choice for collectors with tight wallets.
It’s quite surprising that none of the other top makers have created a figure of her. So the Kotobukiya version is the way to go if you want the best figure of Octavia out at the moment.

Its a nice looking figure, but her character design seems rather generic…

Just your standard swordswoman. Her attire definitely matches that.
Not sure if the sculptors had that much material of Octavia to work with, but I think the details make the somewhat generic swordswoman design into something unique.

RAGE
I want Octavia D: But I’m getting Cloche and Luca now. Hope it won’t be out of stock just yet before winter or so.

Should probably take at least 1 picture with the sword sheathed, to show the different options

@guuzen: Thanks, I was actually surprised that it was made by Kotobukiya when compared to some of my older Koto figures. Guess companies keep on improving.
@Leonia: No problem, the battle stance with the sword drawn is what I think makes it dynamic. Although with the sword sheathed, there’s the feeling of potential energy waiting to be released.
@nekosasu: Cloche and Luca, lol. Still going strong with Ar Tonelico 2 I see. =P
@Guy: I definitely agree, will do so when I go home this weekend. Guess I was just feeling too lazy to get the box out and switch the arm.

Octavia looks really good – this is the kind of figure I like, sculpted in mid-action. Looks like Kotobukiya did a quality job here, which seems to be a trend lately with them. I just wish they would make their bases a little more exciting.

I love figures in dynamic poses. Kotobukiya figures are a hit and miss; a lot of times I don’t like how they render the hair on their figures, but Octavia looks good. As for their bases, I can’t agree with you more. The plain bases could really use more work.
