Nostromo AMVs

A friend showed me one of Nostromo’s AMVs today and I became an instant fan. Although I don’t usually watch AMVs, I must say that his work is amazing and I can’t even imagine how many hours he expended in making them.

Auriga AMV:

It’s great that he includes the companion AMVs showing which anime/game scenes were used. Did you recognize all the series when you first saw the AMV?

Magic Pad AMV:

Although they are both brilliantly done, I prefer Magic Pad over Auriga – just my preference I guess.

His AMVs have won 1st place internationally at Japan Expo along with other numerous honors. The YouTube page for each AMV has all the related information for it, such as the soundtrack, animes used, and contest awards.

I highly recommend watching them in HQ or even downloading the AMVs, especially for the Making of AMVs – the text can be quite blurry for the anime titles in low resolution.

I can’t say that this is really my kind of music, but holy jesus fuck those are amazing videos!

And I’m totally digging that Diebuster shit in both his vids, especially the first >=D

@Snark: The weaving of all the different anime series in his videos are indeed amazing!

The videos are great and all, but I think if he tried doing some stuff without all the unnecessary filters and effects it would be a lot better.

I might be a bit old-school when it comes to things like this, but I prefer a good video – not a good eyegasm of random effects that look ‘cool’ and nice and all. I’m watching an ANIME music video, not a special effects show.

He does put both into one thing well though, so don’t get me wrong I think he’s great. I also really like the ‘making of’ things, you don’t really get any ‘extras’ with stuff like this usually so it’s a nice bonus.

To word my little complaint better – it seems like he focuses more on presenting the effects first and foremost which shouldn’t be the case in my opinion.

@Tallon: I hear ya, they’re almost like special effects vids to go along with the techno/trance type music. As for me, I like both types – depends on what I’m feeling like at the moment.
