GA: Geijutsuka Art Design Class

Continuing with my impressions of this season’s new anime series, we arrive at GA: Geijutsuka Art Design Class. After watching the first episode, this series was something completely unexpected for me.

Summary from AniDB:

Anime adaptation of Satoko Kiyuzuki’s slice-of-life manga series GA: Geijutsuka Art Design Class. The ongoing GA: Geijutsuka Art Design Class manga series premiered in 2004, illustrating the daily lives of five freshman girls in a high school art class.

So from the summary I assumed that it would be similar to other slice-of-life series like Lucky Star and Minami-ke. However, it seemed to be a mix between utter randomness and a half-hearted attempt to teach viewers about art.

meganeHer glasses really annoy me for some reason.

sparkleLots of chibi drawings and randomness in this anime.

color_rangersYour classic Power Rangers parody.

I don’t know. This series just doesn’t feel coherent enough for me to like it. Maybe I’ll try watching one more episode to give it another chance, but I’m leaning heavily towards not following it anymore. -.-
