Highlights of AX2009

With Anime Expo 2009 over, I thought I’ll share some of the pictures I took there. Enjoy!

South Hall:

Heavily packed with people, the South Lobby held the entrance to the Exhibit Hall.

West Hall:

The West Lobby lead to the Main Event area and to most of the Panel Rooms.

Exhibit Hall:

I took the three pictures above in a waiting room for autographs before the Exhibit Hall was opened to the public, which is why it seems so empty.

This was taken after it was opened to the public, sorry for it being a bit blurry.

Panel Room:

The main room used for the Panels we went to.

Panel with Satoshi Nishimura and Yasuhiro Nightow (mangaka of Trigun), he had a great sense of humor and we even got to see a trailer for the upcoming 2009 Trigun Movie.

Dinner:

We had Japanese Ramen, Korean BBQ, and then Chinese food for our dinners. This night was the KBBQ where we tried out a bunch of different meats, which were all pretty good.

These pictures are just some glimpses of my experiences at AX09. Some events not shown include the Panels with Yun Kouga, Hiroyuki Imaishi, Yosuke Kuroda, Seiji Mizushima, and Atsushi Nishigori, which were all amazing. However, I thought the Panel with Yun Kouga (character designer for Gundam 00) had too many questions about her manga Loveless and not enough about her work with Gundam 00.

There were too many things to do and too little time to do it all with things I wanted to go to overlapping on the time schedule. I should also remember to save up more money before going to conventions. For my first convention, it was a great experience overall and I’m definitely looking forward to attending again next year!
